IMPORTANT DETAILS
Available Alterations
- At this time, we can shorten the hem, take in the waist or bust, and add straps to your dress. We are currently unable to do customizations such as adding sleeves or adding length, however this is something that we want to offer in the future.
Timeline
- Consultations are available on a limited first come, first served basis Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm PST. Shortening the hem will not require a consultation
The post-consultation timeline for the return is as follows:
Shipping: Please allow a minimum of 5 business days for the item to be delivered to our Southern California offices
Alterations: Once we receive the dress back, we will make the desired alterations within 14 days or less. The 14-day turnaround starts the business day after it is received in our warehouse. Quicker turnarounds may be available on a first come first served basis, with an additional $25 surcharge.
Return Shipping: Please allow a minimum of 5 business days for the item to be delivered to you via ground shipping. Express shipping is available. Cost is dependent on the weight, box size and destination. Plan for an average of 30 days for the entire process, from the consultation to delivery. Alterations timelines are dependent on availability, so please reach out to our customer service team with any questions or timeline concerns. If you are in need of a quick turnaround, we offer express shipping options.
Cost
- The alterations fee covers our consultation costs, customer service and ground shipping both ways. We do not charge for the alterations themselves.
- The cost for a single basic alteration is $50 USD for any regularly priced item.
- For sale items (marked down more than 15% off), the cost for a single basic alteration is $75 USD.

Measurement Accuracy
- It is important that you measure accurately using the provided measuring tape. We reccommend that you have someone assist you in the process. If a consultation is required, our team will review the measurements with you in the consultation to ensure a proper fit. The team may also ask you to pin the garment, using the provided pins.
- Upon receipt of your item, we will measure and photograph your garment with pins. We will also take images of the completed dress showing the final measurements. Please note that standard tolerance is +/- 1/2 inch. Once alterations are completed, your item will be a final sale (no returns, exchanges, or store credit).
Shipping Updates
- Our customer service team is available to provide you with updates throughout the process. Once your order ships, we will email the tracking and images of the final product with measurements.
Available for US Customers Only
- Due to customs and delivery timelines, we are only able to offer this service for our US based customers.
Consultations
- We schedule virtual consultations Monday thru Friday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm PST. In order to ensure the perfect fit, we would need to see the dress on with the shoes you intend to wear (or similar height). We are unable to schedule consultations in-person, or on nights or weekends.
Lost or Delayed Packages
- The shipping label provided includes insurance. While our team will monitor incoming shipments, we encourage you to track your package frequently and reach out to our team if you see any delays. To assist in the event of a lost package, it is important that you drop off at the carrier and obtain a receipt. Do not use drop boxes or hand to your local driver. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
Helsi Items Purchased from Our Retailer Partners
- At this time, we are unable to offer alterations for Helsi items purchased with our retail partners. Your item must be purchased at shophelsi.com to qualify for alterations.
Requirements
For the health and safety of our team, all items must be clean and unworn. A valid Helsi order number is required.
We do not offer custom work at this time. The only services offered are shortening the hem, taking in the zipper at the waist or bust and adding straps. We reserve the right to decline alteration requests based on capacity, complexity, design, garment condition, or feasibility. .
